Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36(b) of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9710, also known as the Magna Carta for Women (MCW), and Section 37(c) of its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) established its Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System (GFPS) through Special Order No. 13 1 dated 26 September 2017.
The GFPS is the primary institutional mechanism which will take lead in mainstreaming gender in PCC. The GFPS shall further ensure that the PCC programs, projects and activities are gender responsive and gender sensitive, and promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. Likewise, the PCC GFPS shall ensure effective mainstreaming of GAD policies in the organization. The PCC GFPS shall be composed of the GAD Executive Committee (ExeCom), Technical Working Group (TWG), and the Secretariat.

PCC conducts a Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) ++ on 25 to 27 October 2017 that aims to :
- Increase awareness on the basic concepts of GAD and Gender Analysis and its relevant tools;
- Increase appreciation on gender mainstreaming and the Philippine Gender Mainstreaming Strategy;
- Increase understanding of the role of the government and PCC in the implementation of the Magna Carta for Women;
- Develop in-depth understanding of Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework and Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines;
- Equip participants with the necessary tools to develop and GAD Plan and Budget (GPB) and Accomplishment Report (AR); and
- Build camaraderie among the members of the GFPS.
PCC conducts a training on Gender Analysis Tool on 07 to 08 November 2018
A two-day training workshop on the use of Gender Mainstreaming and Evaluation Framework and Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines.
